HPCI Member update 4 November 2026

Thank you!

Every year we run our survey to find out what families with children or young people with SEND in Hertfordshire are experiencing.  The 2026 survey closed on Sunday, and we received an incredible 581 responses.  We know that SEND families have many demands on their time and we are very grateful for everyone who was able to share their views.  We are now analysing the responses and will publish our summary report soon.

Other ways to get involved

Filling out surveys is one of the many ways that you can take part in HPCI’s work to share the experiences of families with SEND, in order to bring about positive change across health, education, and social care services.  If you’d like to get more involved, perhaps as a parent representative, we’d love to hear from you. You can email us or call us on 07840 360 245.  Or you could share your views via one of our online discussions, such as the sessions we’re hosting next week on exclusions and suspensions.

SEND in Hertfordshire: Exclusions and Suspensions webinars – 10 November 2026

Children and young people with SEND are much more likely to experience suspension or permanent exclusion than their peers. This raises important questions about whether their needs have been recognised, understood and properly supported at the right time.

HPCI is hosting two webinars for parent carers to share their experiences. We want to hear what happened, what support was provided, and what could have been done differently to help your child succeed.

Your feedback will help us highlight families’ experiences to the local authority and inform HPCI’s response to the Department for Education’s Call for Evidence on exclusions.

Give us your views – all year round

Finally, you can also share your experiences using our feedback form. Thank you for anything you choose to share.

Many thanks for reading and for being part of HPCI – our voices are stronger together.
